Morningside Exterior Renovation #2

Project Highlights

  • Complete fa├žade renovation
  • Unique combination of building materials used
  • Stone patio includes a fireplace, built-in grilling area and a pond

Small Carpenters at Large worked with Lisa Turner and Wallace Bryan of Trinity Mercantile & Design Co to recreate the exterior of this newer home.  The clients loved the location and size of this intown home, but did not like the exterior character.  At the front of the house, we reframed the roof, added a bay window and a new front entry portico and changed the siding to a brick façade.  Copper roofing, limestone arches and corbels, custom wood front door, custom-made steel and glass door, tongue, groove stained pine ceiling at the portico, and new landscaping are combined to give this house a uniquely polished look.  At the rear of the house, we added interest and character to the massive elevation by adding cedar shakes and different paint colors.  The new stone patio includes a fireplace, built-in grilling area, a pond and plenty of room for entertaining.  The crab orchard stone and brick inlay in a herringbone pattern tie in beautifully with the new look of the house.
