Druid Hills Whole House Remodel #2

“I like the fact that Small Carpenters handles all the details from beginning to end. Danny and his folks pay attention to quality, and in the long run, that is really what counts. The fact that we are three time repeat customers says it all about the folks at Small Carpenters. I am only saddened by the fact that there is nothing left now to redo. ”  –  Carol Smith and Steve Kraftchick

Before/After Floorplans

What began as a bathroom renovation evolved into an entire house and garage renovation to the clients' historic 1920's home. Along with the first floor baths, we expanded and completely renovated the kitchen. The clients then asked us to design an attic addition that would not change outside appearance of their home, but would feel very spacious inside. By simply raising the existing ridge of the roof, we were able to create a generous second floor space and maintain the modest exterior elevation of the house. Some of the outstanding details in the attic addition include barrel vault ceilings, a stained glass window between the master shower and the sitting area, old-fashioned barrister bookcases, and the exceptionally detailed open staircase. The next phase of the project was replacing the structurally damaged garage. The new garage design is much more compatible with the style of the home and better positioned on the site to allow for a more spacious backyard.  The new patio and arbor in the backyard completes the renovation.
